Move from Trakt to KARE

Films, series and your episode progress, from Trakt's own export. Bring your history home; it all starts with the kare.

    Export your data from Trakt

    On trakt.tv, open Settings, then Data, and export your data. Download the files Trakt gives you (a ZIP or JSON files).

    Open KARE's importer

    Sign in to KARE and open Settings → Import (thekare.app/settings/?tab=import).

    Drop the export in

    Drop the ZIP or the JSON files onto the importer. They're read in your browser.

    Check the matches and import

    Review what was found, fix or skip anything that needs a check, then import.

What comes over

  • Watched films with their dates
  • Series, with the episodes you've watched ticked off
  • Ratings (ten-point scores become half stars)
  • Watchlist

What stays behind

  • Your Trakt lists
  • Comments and other social activity on Trakt

Importing the same export again only adds what's new and never overwrites what you've changed on KARE.
