Import your IMDb ratings to KARE

Your IMDb ratings become KARE stars, and your watchlist and lists come along too. Bring your history home; it all starts with the kare.

    Export your ratings from IMDb

    On IMDb, open Your ratings and choose Export from the page's menu. IMDb prepares a CSV file; download it when it's ready. Do the same for your watchlist or any list you want to keep.

    Open KARE's importer

    Sign in to KARE and open Settings → Import (thekare.app/settings/?tab=import).

    Drop the CSV files in

    Drop one or more CSV files onto the importer. They're read in your browser.

    Check the matches and import

    Titles are matched by their IMDb id, so almost everything is found straight away. Choose whether rated titles also go into your diary on the day you rated them, then import.

What comes over

  • Ratings (IMDb's 1–10 becomes half stars: 7/10 is 3.5 stars)
  • Rated titles as watched, on the day you rated them (optional)
  • Watchlist
  • Your lists, in order

What stays behind

  • Episodes, video games, podcasts and music videos
  • Reviews written on IMDb

Importing the same export again only adds what's new and never overwrites what you've changed on KARE.
