I do. KARE is built and run by one person, a cinephile who writes software, not by a company. I built it because I wanted one place that remembers what I watched, when, and how it felt, and people to talk to about it afterwards. The FAQ says a little more.
Kare is Turkish for frame: a single picture on a strip of film, and the square you look through. Every film is made of them, and every entry in your diary is one more.

No. You can browse every film, series, anime, public list and review without one. You need an account to log what you watch, rate, review, make lists or follow people.
Use Sign up at the top of any page. Continue with Google or Apple, or pick a username, add your email and confirm it from the link KARE sends you. No invitation needed.
No. The diary, lists, reviews and everything social are free, and I mean to keep them that way. Some extras are part of KARE Pro.
No, sorry. But your reviews are yours: they show on your profile, on the title's page and in your friends' activity, and you can export them any time.
Following is one-way: you see what someone logs in Activity and on your home page. Friends is mutual and needs the other person to accept. Together they make up your circle, which fills Fresh in your circle on the home page. The FAQ has more.
A personal stats dashboard, stats for any list, taste overlap with any member, week-by-week title analytics, filters for your activity feed, an editable profile layout, favourite actors and directors, pinned reviews, diary entries and lists, challenges, your own posters for any title, cloning other people's lists, and a Pro badge. Yes. On the Pro page, choose Give as a gift, pick the member, add a note and pay. Pro is added to their account as soon as the payment goes through, and they get a notification from you. If you already have a Pro code, you can send it to them instead.
On the Pro page, type your code under Have a code? and press Redeem. Codes, gifts and renewals add time to your current expiry date, so nothing you already paid for is lost.
Nothing is deleted. Your stats, pinned content, challenges and custom posters are kept and come back if you renew; until then your profile uses the standard layout.
No. KARE is a diary and a community, not a streaming service, and it doesn't host or play any video. Every film and series page shows Where to watch: the services that stream, rent or sell it in your country.
Streaming availability is JustWatch data. It follows your browser's country, and changes as services add and remove titles.
When a title has an official trailer, press Trailer on its page. The video loads only after you press it.
Yes. Open any series or anime, pick an episode from the list, and rate or review it. Episode reviews are separate from your review of the whole show.
Popular lists mix what people are watching this week with well-loved titles that are still watched a lot, and ignore titles too few people have rated. Most logged this week counts what members logged, reviewed and liked in the last seven days.
With Pro, yes: use Clone on any public list. The copy is yours to edit, and the original shows how many times it was cloned.
Tick Contains spoilers when you write a review. Others will see a warning and can choose to reveal it.
Be kind, disagree about films rather than people, and mark spoilers. You decide who can reply to your lists, and you can turn off replies to your reviews in Settings. I read every report myself.
From open film and anime catalogues, mainly TMDB; where-to-watch information is JustWatch data. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. If something is wrong, fixing it at the source updates it here.
Your profile, diary, ratings, reviews, lists, KAREs, follows and settings are stored in KARE's database. Small conveniences, like which tips you've seen, stay in this browser.
The privacy policy explains what KARE collects, who can see it and your rights. The terms of use set out the community rules, moderation and KARE Pro. I wrote both to be read, not skipped. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Sign-in & security.
Yes. Settings → Your data exports your diary, reviews, ratings and watchlist as CSV, or everything including lists as JSON. Coming from somewhere else? Import from Letterboxd, IMDb or Trakt.
